margin-right: 0px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; margin-bottom: 10px !important;\">Founded in 1812 and one of over 170 Lodges in the Masonic Province of Yorkshire, West Riding, the Lodge of Candour which meets in Uppermill enjoys an enviable reputation for the warmth of its welcome, fellowship and camaraderie.<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important; line-height: 22px;\" data-unit=\"px\"><span><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Members of all ages come from every walk of life, background and education. Candour members currently include a PR manager, an electrical contractor, a civil servant, a chemist, a car trader, a metal fabricator, a caterer, a solicitor, a driving examiner, a chef, a builder, a professional green keeper, and a bus driver. &nbsp;We even have two stonemason!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important;\">Like lots of other membership-based organisations, some freemasons have been members of Candour for many years and others for just a few months. Every member is equally valued and supported irrespective of how senior or junior.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important;\">What really matters is that everyone enjoys their freemasonry and gets something meaningful out of their membership, and, in very personal and different ways, benefits from Masonic traditions and values.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important;\">On a practical note, the Lodge meets 12 times a year on the second Thursday of the month. Each meeting &#8211; which often includes a guest speaker &#8211; consists of a Masonic ceremony normally lasting between 60 &#8211; 90 minutes, followed by what&#8217;s called a &#8216;social board&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important;\">This is simply a three or four-course dinner followed by a series of short &#8211; and generally humorous! &#8211; toasts and responses. The social board is an important part of the life of every Lodge. It provides the opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new ones and generally enjoy the company of fellow members and visitors. Importantly for new members, the Lodge of Candour is renowned for its hospitality!<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important;\">We also hold a series of social events throughout the year &#8211; one every two months or so &#8211; to which family, friends and colleagues are invited.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 10px !important; margin-top: 10px !important;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><span>Interested in joining?
